Jesus calls us to be hope in a hopeless world and to be a light in a dark world. He said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)

Being a light is simply being a reflection of God’s mercy, love, and grace to all you come in contact with. And on Halloween night, you’ll have the more opportunity for contact with families in your community than on any other day of the year. On Halloween, you can be a light for Christ on a dark night.

So this Halloween… TURN ON YOUR LIGHT! Be at your home, be friendly, and make friends!

To be a light, I want you to do 4 things:

  1. Pick up a bundle (30 or more) of our City Church Trick-or-Treat Invites in the coming weeks.
  2. Stay home on Halloween and TURN ON YOUR LIGHT so kids will know they can come to your home.
  3. Buy the biggest and best candy you can, then tape an invite to each candy bar, so they associate the two.
  4. Give them out with a big smile!

That’s it!! This simple gesture could change a child’s life, save a broken home, and bring many to Christ!

So turn on your light.

This is my prayer for you:

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”(Rom. 15:13)

Stay strong! Keep the hope! And be a light!

I love you very much.
