Single Parent Sponsor – Christmas Toy Drive
This Christmas, we’re coming alongside single parents in our community in a special way.
Instead of hosting our own toy drive at City Church, we are partnering with Esther, a single parent outreach we support year-round through Legacy Giving. Together, we’ll help stock their annual Christmas Toy Drive serving kids in single-parent homes.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
1. Choose a gift for a child (ages 8–12).
We’re focusing on fun, quality gifts for boys and girls in the 8-12 age range.
2. Spend around $25 per gift.
This helps keep things fair so each child receives a similar value of gifts.
3. Bring gifts unwrapped.
Please leave gifts unwrapped so Esther’s team can match each toy to the right child.
4. Drop off by December 14.
Bring your unwrapped gift and place it in the designated Christmas Toy Drive bins in the lobby by Saturday, December 14.
5. Use our Amazon Gift Guide (optional).

WHAT IS ESTHER?
ESTHER is a local outreach that supports single parents in practical, ongoing ways. Through your Legacy giving, City Church helps support Esther every month. This Christmas, we’re taking that partnership a step further by helping stock their Christmas Toy Drive so single parents can “shop” for gifts at no cost.
Why are we not providing gifts for single parents within City Church this year?
This year, instead of running our own internal gift program, we’ve chosen to focus our efforts on partnering with Esther and their Christmas Toy Drive. By joining what God is already doing through Esther, we can make a larger, more unified impact for single-parent families in our broader community.
Who will receive these gifts?
The gifts will be given to children ages 8–12 from single-parent families connected to Esther’s outreach. Parents will have the opportunity to select toys from the Christmas Toy Drive and give them to their children as gifts.
What age range should I buy for?
We are collecting gifts specifically for kids ages 8–12.
How much should I spend?
We recommend spending around $25 per gift. This helps keep gifts similar in value so every child has a fair and meaningful experience.
Should I wrap the gift?
No. Please do not wrap your gift.
Leave it unwrapped so the Esther team can see the item and match it with the right child and family.
When are gifts due?
All gifts should be dropped off by Saturday, December 14.
This gives Esther enough time to sort, organize, and prepare their Christmas Toy Drive before families arrive.
Where do I drop off my gift?
Bring your unwrapped gift to City Church and place it in the designated Single Parent Sponsor / Christmas Toy Drive bins in the lobby before December 14.
How does the Amazon Gift Guide work?
We’ve created an Amazon Gift Guide with ideas that are fun, age-appropriate, and within the suggested price range.
You can:
- Purchase directly from the guide, or
- Use it as inspiration while shopping in-store or online elsewhere.
Either way, please bring the gift unwrapped and drop it off at City Church by December 14.
Can I give financially instead of shopping?
GIVE NOWIf you would rather give financially, you can continue to give through our Legacy offering, which helps support partners like ESTHER all year long.
Give online under "Legacy" and under the note, put "ESTHER" or "Single Parent Sponor"
Is there any registration or sign-up required to participate?
No registration is needed.
Just purchase a gift, leave it unwrapped, and drop it off by December 14—it’s that simple.
How else can I pray or support single parents this season?
- Pray for single moms and dads to experience God’s peace, provision, and presence this Christmas.
- Pray that every child receiving a gift knows they are seen, valued, and loved.
- Continue to support Legacy giving, which helps City Church partner with ministries like Esther throughout the year.
